What Pro Athletes eat for energy and health
Athletes eat a high protein diet mainly, with a combo of fibrous vegetables and whole grains. Here is an example meal you can use in your highly active day as an athlete.
Pre-Workout meal: Lean beef 8 oz. of Patties, flank steak or Kabobs
Veggies: Navy or Kidney Beans, Spinach, onions and broccoli
Starchy Carbs: Whole Wheat Pasta, 100% Whole Grain Breads, 1 Cup Brown Rice
Either one of these carbs go well with Lean Beef and veggies. For added flavor use
a low-fat pasta sauce or even low-fat salsa.
This is a great way to get needed fats, protein, fiber and vitamins and minerals.
